Is My Child Well Enough for the Nursery?

Many parents are frequently concerned about when to keep children home or send them to the nursery. The following information is intended to help parents with this decision.

  • If child has had a fever of 100 or more, the child should stay home for 24 hours after the temperature returns to normal.
  • If child has yellow or greenish nasal discharge, child should stay home until it clears up.
  • If child has any type of cough or is heavily congested, child should stay home until cough clears up.
  • If child has an infection (ear, throat, etc.), the child should stay home until he/she has been on antibiotics for 24 hours.
  • If child has vomited or had diarrhea, the child should stay home until 24 hours after the last episode.
  • If child has any rash that may be disease-related or you do not know the cause, check with your family physician before sending your child to the nursery.
  • If child has head lice, child should stay home until it is treated effectively.
  • We hope these guidelines will make you feel comfortable in knowing that your child will not be exposed to children with a known illness. Please be considerate of the other children in our care and of your own child by keeping a sick child home. If a child arrives ill to the Nursery, our Nursery Staff may decide whether or not the child is able to be in the Nursery or should remain with the parent.

Volunteer and Paid Opportunities in the Nursery

About

Small Group Time is designed to strengthen your child’s relationship with Jesus, their leaders and their peers. We do this through a variety of age-appropriate activities, found through a Bible-based curriculum called Grow, such as hearing Bible stories, prayer and hands-on projects.

Additionally, we have resources for parents located on our resource wall outside the Library.

We love being orange and connecting the whole family to Jesus!

A new Hosanna Children’s registration is required each programming year.
