The Impact Tomorrow Today initiative seeks to ensure Hosanna is healthy today and for future generations.

One way that we are seeking to improve our overall church health is by increasing the amount of total households that give regularly.

As of November 20, 2025, Hosanna had 1300 total households that give regularly.

Our goal is to increase that to 1500 households by December 31, 2026.

What is the purpose of the Impact tomorrow today initiative?

As we plan for Hosanna’s future, we have found ourselves asking, “what does a healthy church look like?” Answering this question will guide us as we build upon the foundation created by the first Hosanna disciples 53 years ago. As we have considered this question, four areas have been identified. Teaching. Fellowship. Breaking of Bread. Prayer.

Consider the following scripture from Acts 2:42-45 that shares how the early church understood their assignment:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together, and they had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day, they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
We are encouraged to see that Hosanna is aligned to what the early disciples were devoted. Hosanna teaches through sermon series and around the Life Group Table. Fellowship is thriving as we gather around the Meal Table. Breaking of bread during communion is a regular and integral part of our worship services at the Altar Table. Prayers are shared together as we communicate with God to discern His will and ask His will to be done. Individual Healing Prayers are regular part of Journeys Worship.

As we grow in numbers, we are challenged financially as giving lags behind growth. Your financial support is the fuel that makes everything possible. Where you are on your giving journey will be different than your neighbor. Maybe you’re on your first step. Or maybe you are considering taking another step. Wherever you are, all disciples are invited to come together as we consider financial generosity as an integral part of the Impact Tomorrow Today Initiative.

What is the purpose of the IMPACT TOMORROW TODAY initiative?
First and foremost, it is an opportunity to develop generous stewards as we invite all disciples to join in Hosanna’s mission to Connect People to Jesus. To ensure that Hosanna is positioned to do this for generations to come, it is important to be financially healthy. The Impact Tomorrow Today Initiative is designed to meet the obligations of our annual budget, increase our reserve fund, and accelerate the reduction of our mortgage in anticipation of a future building or improvement project. For these reasons, we have set a goal to grow the number of regular giving households from 1,300 to 1,500 by December 31, 2026.
Besides the obvious financial impact for our church, one of the most powerful things about giving is that it doesn’t just impact others, it changes us. When we give regularly and intentionally, our hearts start to shift. And when we give even when it feels risky or uncomfortable, our faith grows. It stretches us. It teaches us to depend on God’s provision and to believe that He’s enough. Generosity is how God brings forth the abundant life that Jesus promises, for us and for others. It’s about living open-handed, asking God, “What have You given me, and how can I use it for Your glory?”  The beauty of ministry giving is that it multiplies. It invites every believer to be part of God’s redemptive work in the world. It’s how we can Impact Tomorrow Today.
What is the significance of 1,500 giving households?
We are blessed to serve over 3,800 households. We are grateful for the support of the 1,300 (34%) households who participate financially in supporting our mission. Our goal of 1,500 regular giving households represents 40% of served households. This moves us closer to the average of 63% of churches across the nation.

In addition to Worship, Life Groups, and Meal Ministry, are there other key focus areas Hosanna supports?
Yes! Currently, 10% of total contributions are allocated to missions. During our 2024-2025 fiscal year, $298,907 impacted 30+ mission organizations. Examples include Connections Ministry, Options Mankato, Camp Omega, and Children’s Hope Chest.
I'm curious, what is the average annual gift per attendee?
During our 2024-2025 fiscal year, this average was $2,043 annually or $39.28 per week. Why is this important? This benchmark provides a snapshot of how we mutually come together and share the costs to fund our mission of connecting people to Jesus. Results from a  recent survey by Unstuck Group reveal that similarly sized churches across the nation report average per person giving $46 per week. If this average giving were attained, the impact would be an additional $523,500.
I'm just starting to give, and my gift feels small. Does it really make an impact?
Have you ever asked yourself this question? When you give freely, you’re not just helping Hosanna, you’re stepping into the generosity that Jesus modeled. While we track things like giving per person, your giving is a personal act of worship – with a focus on the heart and ability to give. What often feels small to us, a quiet gift, a recurring donation, a one-time offering can ripple out and touch lives in ways we may never fully see.
How reliant is Hosanna on large donors?
We recognize that 1% of our giving households (13 households) contributed $616,726 in 2024. This represents 18% of total giving. Over-reliance on top donors can create a fragile financial foundation should there be a sudden loss of a major donor. Through the Impact Tomorrow Today Initiative, our primary goal is to actively engage with more donors to create a broader base to support our growing ministry programs.
What do my contributions to Hosanna support?
Your contributions support our day-to-day ministry operations, missions, and our monthly mortgage payment. Based on our 2025-2026 budget, contributions and other income cover expenses as follows:

How does our staffing level compare to the other similarly sized churches?
We currently employ 60 individuals – which translates to 27 full-time equivalent employees (FTE). On average, churches with weekly attendance between 1,000 & 2,000 have 1 FTE for every 53 people in attendance. Our weekly attendance in 2025 averaged 1,832. This gives us a staffing level of 1 FTE for every 68 people in attendance – meaning we are running a bit leaner than other churches our size.
I would like to know more about our outstanding mortgage balance.
The outstanding mortgage balance is $1,767,372* We make a monthly payment of $23,000 or $276,000 annually. Early in 2025 the loan rate increased to 6.625% from 4.00%

Is this a debt reduction initiative?
In the fall of 2024, many disciples participated in a Ministry Readiness Study. Debt reduction questions were received. One ratio that can assess a church’s financial health is its debt-to-giving ratio. This is an indicator of its ability to manage its financial obligations. It is recommended that the total debt for a healthy church remains at less than 2 times its annual budget. Based on our current budget, this would be $7,277,926. Hosanna’s current debt-to-giving ratio is at a healthy .5 compared to our budget of 3,638,963. While our debt level is at a healthy level, our goal is to accelerate payments with contributions received in excess of our annual operating and mission budget.
I would like to specifically give to reduce our mortgage. How can I do this?
One way to do this would be to buy Scrip Cards. Earnings from Scrip purchases have helped reduce our mortgage. To date, an additional $274,500 has been paid down on our mortgage from Scrip purchases. This has resulted in interest savings of $232,508 for a total savings of $507,258. Does hosanna have a reserve fund?
Yes. It’s recommended for a church to maintain a reserve fund to cover 2-3 months’ worth of expenses. We currently have reserve funds equal to approximately two months’ expenses. This fiscal year we plan to add $100,000 to our reserve fund.
Are we still holding excess funds that were collected in 2022 to purchase the land east of our building?
Yes. We have $281,842 set aside for potential property expansion in the future.
