Make an impact. Join the initiative.
The Impact Tomorrow Today initiative seeks to ensure Hosanna is healthy today and for future generations.
In 2025, we launched the Impact Tomorrow Today Initiative to engage 200 new households in our mission. We are grateful to share that we reached this goal, and we give thanks for every new donor and long-standing disciple who helps sustain our shared ministry.
We are now entering the initiative’s second phase with renewed focus: funding the approved 2026–2027 budget of $3,872,000. The 6.41% increase is largely due to $223,000 in planned extra mortgage principal payments. For many disciples, reducing our mortgage balance is a meaningful way to invest in future generations.

- If you haven’t started giving, now is an important time to begin
- Move from occasional giving to a regular, recurring gift
- Consider choosing a percentage of your income as a guide
- Increase your annual giving by 6.41%
- Make a one-time or recurring gift to the Building Fund

FAQ's
Maybe you’ve been giving for years. Maybe you’re just starting. Wherever you are, here’s the encouragement: God isn’t after your money. He’s after your heart. Giving isn’t a burden to carry; it’s an invitation to join something sacred. It’s a way to participate in Hosanna’s mission and to experience the joy of generosity. No gift is too small when it's given in faith. No act of giving goes unnoticed by the God who sees everything. So, take a step. Pray. Give with intention. Trust that God will take your gift, multiply it, and use it to do far more than you could ask or imagine.
What is the purpose of the IMPACT TOMORROW TODAY initiative?
First and foremost, it is an opportunity to develop generous stewards as we invite all disciples to join in Hosanna’s mission to Connect People to Jesus. To ensure that Hosanna is positioned to do this for generations to come, it is important to be financially healthy. The Impact Tomorrow Today Initiative is designed to meet the obligations of our annual budget, increase our reserve fund, and accelerate the reduction of our mortgage in anticipation of a future building or improvement project.
Besides the obvious financial impact for our church, one of the most powerful things about giving is that it doesn’t just impact others, it changes us. When we give regularly and intentionally, our hearts start to shift. And when we give even when it feels risky or uncomfortable, our faith grows. It stretches us. It teaches us to depend on God’s provision and to believe that He’s enough. Generosity is how God brings forth the abundant life that Jesus promises, for us and for others. It’s about living open-handed, asking God, “What have You given me, and how can I use it for Your glory?” The beauty of ministry giving is that it multiplies. It invites every believer to be part of God’s redemptive work in the world. It’s how we can Impact Tomorrow Today.

In addition to Worship, Life Groups, and Meal Ministry, are there other key focus areas Hosanna supports?
Yes! Currently, 10% of total contributions are allocated to missions. During our 2025-2026 fiscal year, $342,820 impacted 30+ mission organizations. Examples include Connections Ministry, Options Mankato, Camp Omega, and Children’s Hope Chest.
I'm curious, what is the average annual gift per attendee?
During our 2025-2026 fiscal year, this average was $2,365 annually or $45.48 per week. Why is this important? This benchmark provides a snapshot of how we mutually come together and share the costs to fund our mission of connecting people to Jesus. Results from a recent survey by Unstuck Group reveal that similarly sized churches across the nation report average per person giving $49.48 per week. If Hosanna was able to reach this average, the impact would be an additional $312,000.
I'm just starting to give, and my gift feels small. Does it really make an impact?
Have you ever asked yourself this question? When you give freely, you’re not just helping Hosanna, you’re stepping into the generosity that Jesus modeled. While we track things like giving per person, your giving is a personal act of worship – with a focus on the heart and ability to give. Every gift contributes to our collective ability to Connect People to Jesus. Consider the impact of the following weekly or monthly gifts.
Weekly Gift Monthly Gift Annual Gift
$ 5 $ 20 $260
$ 10 $ 40 $520
$ 25 $ 100 $1,300
$ 40 $ 160 $2,080
$ 50 $ 200 $2,600
What often feels small to us, a quiet gift, a recurring donation, a one-time offering can ripple out and touch lives in ways we may never fully see.

How reliant is Hosanna on large donors?
We recognize that 1% of our giving households (15 households) contributed $525,807 during our last fiscal year. This represents 15% of total giving. Over-reliance on top donors can create a fragile financial foundation should there be a sudden loss of a major donor. Through the Impact Tomorrow Today Initiative, our primary goal is to actively engage with more donors to create a broader base to support our growing ministry programs.
I would like to know more about our outstanding mortgage balance.
Early in 2025 the loan rate increased to 6.625% from 4.00%. The outstanding mortgage balance is $1,671,336.* The normal monthly payment is $23,000 or $276,000 annually. Between July 2026 and June 2027, disciples approved making a larger monthly payment of $41,667 in an effort to reduce the mortgage balance.

Is this a debt reduction initiative?
In the fall of 2024, many disciples participated in a Ministry Readiness Study. Debt reduction questions were received. One ratio that can assess a church’s financial health is its debt-to-giving ratio. This is an indicator of its ability to manage its financial obligations. It is recommended that the total debt for a healthy church remains at less than 2 times its annual budget. Based on our current budget, this would be $7,744,000. Hosanna’s current debt-to-giving ratio is at a healthy .5 compared to our budget of 3,872,000. While our debt level is at a healthy level, our goal is to accelerate payments with contributions received in excess of our annual operating and mission budget.
I would like to specifically give to reduce our mortgage. How can I do this?
One way to do this would be to buy Scrip Cards. Earnings from Scrip purchases have helped reduce our mortgage. To date, an additional $285,000 has been paid down on our mortgage from Scrip purchases. For questions about Scrip or contributing directly toward our mortgage, please contact Shannon Hecksel or Julie Vetter.
Does hosanna have a reserve fund?
Yes. It’s recommended for a church to maintain a reserve fund to cover 2-3 months’ worth of expenses. We currently have reserve funds equal to approximately two months’ expenses.
Are we still holding excess funds that were collected in 2022 to purchase the land east of our building?
Yes. We have $277,588 set aside for potential property expansion in the future.
Who can I direct more questions to?
If you have any further questions after reading through these, please feel free to reach out to me (julievetter@hosanna.church) or Shannon Hecksel (shannonhecksel@hosanna.church).

Take the Pledge
As you consider your next step, where better than Scripture to seek God’s guidance. The Generosity Pledge is a reflection guide for using the gifts God has given you. It does not need to be returned; we hope these Scriptures help you listen, reflect, and discover what Jesus teaches on faithful, joyful stewardship.
- Acknowledge God’s ownership. I understand that everything I have comes from God. He has trusted me with these gifts so I can use them for His work and to help others. Psalm 24:1
- Give with a cheerful heart. I will give with joy and thankfulness, joining with other Hosanna disciples as we serve God together. 2 Corinthians 9:7
- Honor God first. I will give God my first and best, trusting that He will use my gift as part of our church’s mission. Proverbs 3:9
- Serve our neighbors. I will help Hosanna show Christ’s love to our community and to people who are in need. Proverbs 19:17
- Invest in future ministry. I will give with future generations in mind so Hosanna can keep sharing the hope of Christ for many years. Matthew 6:20
